Hungarian multinational Cordia, has announced the appointment of Fernando Rodríguez Lluesma as the new CEO of the company in Spain. This appointment follows the recent designation of Mauricio Mesa Gómez, former CEO for Spain and Romania, as Chairman of the Board of Directors in both countries.
This strengthened structure is designed to support the next phase of growth in Spain, expand the project pipeline, and prepare operational platforms for future investments and value creation. Spain will be a key strategic focus for the company in the coming years, driven by attractive risk‑adjusted returns and Cordia’s ambition to significantly expand its investment portfolio and development activity in the country. Likewise, Cordia also aims to leverage cross‑border opportunities supported by strong local management teams and an already consolidated regional network.
New CEO
Fernando Rodríguez Lluesma has a solid track record as an executive in the real estate sector, with extensive experience in listed companies and international environments. Throughout his career, he has developed a comprehensive view of the business, covering key areas such as investment, business development, operations, and asset management.
In his new role, Rodríguez Lluesma will be responsible for aligning Cordia’s strategy in Spain with the group’s global objectives, overseeing operations, and ensuring the achievement of long‑term profitability targets. His main functions include securing a steady flow of investment and development projects, leading the execution of projects according to business plans, as well as building and consolidating a high‑performance team.
Before joining Cordia, the new CEO held senior executive positions in leading companies in the sector and managed real estate assets valued at more than €800 million, led investments exceeding €500 million in fully zoned land, and participated in the development of over 15,000 residential units.
Fernando Rodríguez Lluesma is an Architect from the University of Navarra, holds an MBA and a PDG from IESE Business School, and is a member of prestigious international organisations such as The Counselors of Real Estate (CRE) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), where he holds the rank of Fellow (FRICS) and serves as an ambassador in Spain.
